Proving Oral History
A Case Study in Genealogical Research 
By Deborah A. Abbott, Ph.D.

  This lecture will ask you to put on your “CSI” hat and use your “detective” skills,
as well as your critical thinking abilities to prove an oral history story when
               very little information is known. You will learn how to identify clues, master
 techniques and find resources that help to solve the unknown. 

Deborah A. Abbott, Ph.D. will return for the 6th time to share will us her
expertise on using various online computer resources to discover your genealogy.  

Deborah A. Abbott, Ph.D., is an adjunct faculty member at the Institute of
Genealogy & Historical Research (IGHR) at Samford University in Birmingham,
Alabama and currently serves as the Cleveland District Trustee on the Ohio
Genealogical Society (OGS) Board. She is past-president of the African-American
Genealogical Society, Cleveland, Ohio (AAGS) and a retired professor of
Counseling from Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland. She holds
both the Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education degrees from
Tuskegee University (Alabama) and the Ph.D. degree from Kent State University (Ohio).
